Playground Maintenance 101

Playground repairs and maintenance are inevitable when you own a playground, especially in high traffic locations such as schools and parks. It is vital to keep up with regular inspections, repairs and maitenance before accidents occur. Playgrounds will experience general wear and tear, damage due to weather or unfortunately, damage due to vanadlism and will need to be repaired immediately.

Regular inspections should be done by an authorised playground inspector. They will do a comprehensive check and have the knowlede and skills to spot problem areas that may need to be repaired or replaced. Corner off any playground equipment that needs repairs or maintenance so as to avoid any accidents or injury. Be prepared with a tool kit to tighten any loose bolts and screws or to do minor adjustments. Ensure that the surface of your playground is safe and does not have any cracks or trip hazards. Once repairs have been carried out, check in again with your authorised playground inspector to make sure that the repairs were done correctly.
